We have already seen plenty of leaks regarding Xiaomi's upcoming affordable notebook but the latest leak shows some specification details suggesting it could go against Apple's 12-inch Macbook and Microsoft's Surface Book.

According to the latest report coming from China, Xiaomi notebook could come with a screen between 12.5-inches and 13.3-inches, which should put it in the same screen size segment as the Microsoft Surface Book and Apple's 12-inch Macbook. As for specifications, the same source suggest that Xiaomi will offer its notebook in two versions, with a Core i5 and Core i7 CPUs.

What makes the upcoming Xiaomi notebook so special is the fact that it will use a design similar to the Macbook Air lineup, as it will be made of metal.

The Xiaomi notebook is expected to go into mass production in April, which means it could launch sometime in the second quarter of 2016. The price is rumored to be set at 2,999 Yuan, which is around US $465. Of course, this will probably be the price of a base version with Core i5 CPU, but it is still much less compared to the competition.
