Crucial has announced that its DDR4 2400MT/s 8Gb-based RDIMM, LRDIMM and ECC UDIMM server modules are now available.
With the higher density modules, 8Gb-based DDR4 memory brings increased performance, bandwidth and energy efficiency. Compared to 4Gb-based modules, the new Crucial DDR4 8Gb-modules will not only provide higher bandwidth and channel density, but should also be up to 20 percent more energy efficient as well as provide more value per gigabit, according to Crucial.
Intel's Director of Memory Enabling, Geof Findley, has expressed excitement with continued cooperation with Crucial on the new 8Gb-based DDR4 server modules which should support next-generation server platforms as well as provide technology and services needed to support mutual customers.
Michael Moreland, Worldwide Product Marketing Manager at Crucial noted that data-intensive server applications continue to require higher densities of memory due to increasing and more demanding workloads and that new 8Gb-based server modules should help with future scalability as well as lower the total cost of ownership (TCO) for users.
According to Crucial, the new DDR4 8Gb-based DDR4 modules are backed by a limited lifetime warranty and are both available and included in the Reliance Program.
