Nvidia has released the new Geforce 359.12 hotfix driver for issues that have been plaguing users with the GTX 860M mobile GPU after installing Geforce 359 series drivers.
While Nvidia only mentions the GTX 860M mobile graphics card, the Geforce Forums is full with issues on both GTX 860M and the GTX 960M mobile graphics cards. According to details that we managed to gather, those two graphics cards have frame rate drop issues, crashes and visual bugs in recently released games. Some users also had issues where Windows did not even recognize the dedicated GPU and used the integrated one instead.
We are not sure if all issues have been covered by the new Geforce 359.12 hotfix driver as the release notes only mentions game crashes on certain Geforce GTX 860M notebooks.
The new Geforce 359.12 hotfix driver has all the fixes from the recently released Geforce 359.06 WHQL driver but it is not WHQL certified. The hotfix driver can be found
at Nvidia's dedicated support page and available for Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10 in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions.
