Samsung has unveiled its two new ATIV Book 9 notebooks, the ATIV Book 9 Pro and the ATIV Book 9 Spin. The first one is a premium notebook that will be based on Intel's latest Core i7 Skylake CPU paired up with an optional Nvidia's Geforce GTX 950M, all to power a 15.6-inch 4K/UHD screen, while the second one will be smaller but with a few more features.
Built around a 15.6-inch 3840x2160 touchscreen display, the Samsung ATIV Book 9 Pro packs Intel's Core i7-6700HQ Skylake CPU clocked at 2.6GHz, 8GB of RAM, 256GB SSD and Nvidia GTX 950M GPU, all for US $1,599.
The rest of the general specifications four speakers, 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, USB 3.1 Type-C port, three standard USB 3.0 ports, 4K-capable HDMI output, a card reader and a battery that should keep it alive for around 6.5 hours, all in a chassis weighing just under 2kg.
In addition to the ATIV Book 9 Pro, Samsung also unveiled the 13.3-inch ATIV Book 9 Spin, a notebook that can be also turned to a tablet, thanks to its 360-degree hinge.
It packs a 13.3-inch 3200x1800 QHD+ touchscreen, Intel's Core i7-6500U Skylake CPU clocked at 2.5GHz, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage, but lacks optional Nvidia GTX 950M GPU, all for US $1,399. The rest of the specifications are pretty much identical to the ATIV Book Pro 9 except for the battery that should keep it running for just a little over 7 hours.
Both notebooks should be available in November in the US.
