Acer unveils two 27-inch Predator XB1 series monitors

With WQHD and 4K/UHD resolutions

Acer has launched two new 27-inch Predator XB1 series monitors that will have the same size and the design but at a different resolution, the Predator XB271HU and the XB271HK.

Both monitors will be based on the same recognizable red and black Predator design, support for Nvidia G-Sync and plenty of gaming-oriented features. Both have the same 27-inch size panel but at a different resolution, WQHD 2560x1440 for the Predator XB271HU and 4K/UHD for the Predator XB271HK.

According to Acer's press release, the Predator XB271HU is based on a WHQD 2560x1440 IPS panel offering 100 percent sRGB color gamut. It has a 350cd/m2 maximum brightness, 4ms GTG response rate and 165Hz refresh rate, as well as the aforementioned support for G-Sync. The rest of the features include Predator EyeProtect and Acer Gameview features.

The more expensive Acer Predator XB271HK has a 4K/UHD 3840x2160 IPS panel with 300cd/m2 brightness and can reproduce 1.07 billion colors, it also has a 100 percent sRGB color accuracy and 4ms response time as well as 178 degrees horizontal and vertical viewing angles.

Both new Predator XB1 series monitors have a special ergonomically designed stand providing pivot, height, swivel and tilt adjustments as well as offer HDMI, DisplayPort, USB 3.0 hub connectivity and two 2W stereo speakers.

According to Acer, the Predator XB1 series monitors will be available in the US retail/e-tail as of this month with MSRP set at US $799 for the Predator XB271HU and $899 for the Predator XB271HK.
