Not long ago it was reported that AMD has lost its CPU architect Jim Keller and according to the latest rumor, Samsung managed to snatch him.
According to the latest rumor coming from Weibo.com, it appears that Jim Keller will be joining Samsung as Chief Architect Research & Development. Keller will be working at Samsung's R&D center in Austin, Texas and should significantly help the company to improve its future SoCs.
This won't be a strange job for Jim Keller as he was already behind Apple's A4 and A5S SoCs, which powered Apple's iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S smartphones.
While Samsung had a significant lead over its competition with 14nm manufacturing process, mainly TSMC, same those competitors are now catching up as TSMC has already started to ship 16nm FinFET+ chips.
It will be quite interesting to see Samsung's future chips but both Keller and Samsung still have to confirm the rumor.
