While there has been a lot of talk about DirectX 12 and hardware support recently, there has not been a lot of talk regarding game engines, but now DICE has teased that its Frostbite engine already supports DirectX 12.
While some engines have already announced its future support for DirectX 12, DICE is apparently already working on it as official confirmation from Technical Director, Stefan Bobereg, suggested at Twitter.
According to a short Tweet from Boberg, Frostbite engine actually already supports DirectX 12 but there is still not word on an actual game that will implement DirectX 12.
This does not come as a big surprise considering that DICE worked closely with AMD and its Mantle API.
In any case, best bet is on the next Battlefield game which will most likely come with support for DirectX 12 but we might also see some earlier games with preliminary support.
