The guys over at Videocardz.com have published first benchmark results regarding the upcoming GeForce GTX 950 graphics card. If rumors are true this cards should launch tomorrow with the price set to a crisp 149 US-Dollar. With this particular card NVIDIA appears to be putting pressure on AMDs Radeon R9 370X graphics card.

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 is based on a Maxwell GM206-250-A1 GPU and features 768 CUDA cores, 48 texture mapping units and 32 ROPs. Clock speeds of the reference model should be 1089/1266MHz (base clock / boost clock). There are 2 Gigabyte of VRAM connected to the GPU via a 128 bit memory interface and clocked at 6.6 GHz. TDP should be 90 Watts.

According to Videocardz the card scores 2939 Points in 3DMark 11 Extreme and 3007 points in 3DMark Firestrike Extreme. What's interesting to know is that the R9 370X from Powercolor, which runs with 1180MHz clock speeds, socre 2762 Points in 3DMark 11 Extreme and 3035 Points in 3DMark Firestrike Extreme. This makes the GTX 950 reference equally quick. If you now keep in mind that the GTX 950 is set to cost 149 US-Dollar, while the Powercolor Devil Radeon R9 370X will cost 179 US-Dollar, it looks like the NVIDIA card might be a better deal.

It will be interesting to see the first full reviews on both of these entry-level cards. So far it looks like NVIDIA is launching an attack in the entry-level gaming sector offering great bang for the buck.
