AMD dual-GPU Fury coming this year

Might not be called Fury X2

While AMD already teased its dual-GPU Fury graphics card during its E3 2015 show earlier last week, we now have some more information regarding including the fact that it will be coming this year.

During its E3 2015 press conference, AMD announced a total of four different products based on the new Fiji GPU, including the Radeon Fury X, Radeon Fury, Radeon R9 Nano as well as a dual-GPU solution based on two Fiji GPUs. Unfortunately, while we got estimated release dates for most products, AMD was pretty silent regarding the dual-GPU solution.

According to a new report from Tweaktown.com, which was present at AMD Australia Fiji launch event, the dual-GPU Fury graphics cards, which was pictured in full details below, should be coming "this year." While there is no precise date, othe than prediction that it will most likely come in November, it is nice to know that it might be ready for Christmas shopping season.

The PCB shows two Fiji GPUs with HBM connected via PLX chip. The sample PCB also shows that it will still need two 8-pin PCI-Express power connectors, which suggest that we might see a down-clocked or even cut-down versions of the Fiji GPU.

First reviews of the AMD Radeon Fury X should be coming this week and hopefully we will hear more about both the dual-GPU Fury as well as the R9 Nano soon.
