XFX's Radeon R9 390X Double Dissipation graphics card has leaked on XFX website confirming that the R9 390X will be a rebranded R9 290X with 8GB of memory and probably slightly higher clocks.
The same graphics card leaked about two months ago and although marked as fake, it appears that even those pictures of the diamond pattern shroud were legit and that such graphics card was in production.
While AMD will get a new name for its Fiji-based flagship graphics card, it is now pretty much clear that most of Radeon 300 series graphics card will be rebrands of existing Radeon 200 series graphics cards, including Radeon R9 290X 8GB, which will become the R9 390X.
Earlier rumors suggest that Radeon R9 290X 4GB graphics cards will be known as the R9 390, while we are not sure if AMD will keep the Radeon R9 290 on the market under the new name. Earlier this week, R9 380 Gaming G1 from Gigabyte leaked showing that it will be a rebranded R9 285, based on Tonga GPU.
In case you somehow missed it, the R9 390X will be based on the 28nm Hawaii GPU packing 2816 Stream Processors, 176 TMUs and 64 ROPs. It will pack 8GB of GDDR5 6GHz clocked memory paired up with a 512-bit memory interface.
The new Radeon R9 390X 8GB will probably have higher GPU clocks compared to the R9 290X, so expect a 50MHz GPU clock bump. It will still feature same DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort otuputs and could be powered by either 8+6-pin or in some cases, 8+8-pin PCI-Express power connectors. The price is expected to hit anywhere between US $399 and US $449.
The XFX R9 390X 8GB Double Dissipation graphics card features a custom PCB while the dual-slot cooler has two fans, cooling down a Direct Contact heatsink with several heatpipes.
The AMD Radeon R9 300 series is expected to officially launch on June 16th alongside the Radeon Fury flagship offer.
