It appears that Nvidia has indeed lifted a ban on custom Titan X graphics cards as EVGA has announced its newest version of the Geforce Titan X, the EVGA Geforce GTX Titan X Hybrid with liquid+air cooler.
The new EVGA Geforce GTX Titan X Hybrid features a blower style dual-slot air cool combined with an All in One (AiO) liquid cooling solution, which, according to EVGA, significantly lowers the GPU operating temperature. It includes a 120mm radiator and fan and it is a completely self-contained unit with no filling, no custom tubing and no maintenance.
Pairing the GTX Titan X with this kind of AiO Hybrid cooler allowed EVGA to push the base clock up to 1152MHz while Boost GPU clock was raised to 1241MHz. It still comes with 12GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 7010MHz and paired up with a 384-bit memory interface.
The same EVGA Hybrid AiO cooler will also be available as
an Upgrade Kit, priced at US $109, for those that already own the Geforce GTX Titan X graphics card and want such cooling on their own Titan X. Bear in mind that while the EVGA Hybrid AiO cooler takes care of the GPU and comes with its own shroud, the VRM and memory are still cooled by the blower air cooler.
The new EVGA Geforce GTX Titan X Hybrid should be available soon with a price set at US $1099.99.
