In addition to refreshing the 15-inch MacBook Pro with new specifications and Touch Force touchpad, Apple has unveiled the new 27-inch Retina iMac with 5K display, priced at US $1,999.
Previously starting at "Apple modest" US $2,499, the 5K display on 27-inch iMac Retina is now a bit more affordable with a base configuration starting at US $1,999 and including a 3.3GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 CPU, 8GB of RAM, Radeon R9 M290 graphics and 1TB of HDD space.
While it lacks SSD storage, the new 27-inch iMac Retina still offers a lot of pixels for that amount of money and the specifications are not bad either. By adding 1TB Fusion Drive, a 3.5GHz clocked Core i5 CPU and Radeon M290X graphics card to the base configuration, puts the 27-inch iMac Retina to US $2,229, which is still US $200 less than original one.
The new 27-inch iMac 5K Retina can be further configured at
Apple's Online Store and should be available soon.
