Gigabyte unveils new dual-socket Xeon motherboard

Based on Intel C612 chipset

Gigabyte has unveiled its newest dual-socket MW70-3S0 motherboard that features dual LGA-2011v3 sockets, 16 DIMM memory slots and a total of six PCI-Express slots with support for both Crossfire and SLI, all on E-ATX form-factor.

As if support for up to 512GB of DDR4-2133 memory and two LGA-2011v3 sockets for Intel's Haswell-EP Xeon CPUs were not enough, Gigabyte's new MW70-3S0 workstation motherboard also features six PCI-Express slots and support 3-way SLI or AMD CrossfireX configurations with three, out of six, PCI-Express slots running at full Gen3 x16 bandwidth.

The rest of the specifications include 10 SATA 6Gbps ports provided by Intel's C612 chipset and additional LSI SAS controller for up to eight 12Gbps via dual mini-SAS ports, dual Gigabit Ethernet, Realtek audio bunch of USB ports, a total of seven PWM fan headers and pretty much anything you might want to see on a high-end motherboard, even if it is a workstation one.

Unfortunately, Gigabyte did not reveal any details regarding the price or the precise availability for the new Gigabyte MW70-3S0 motherboard.
