While there were couple of of LGA2011v3 socket motherboards based on mini-ITX form factor which allowed you to use Intel's flagship eight-core Haswell-E Core i7-5960X CPU, these were limited to dual-channel memory support, at least until now as ASRock has announced its new mini-ITX server-grade motherboard which not only support LGA2011V3 CPUs but also offers quad-channel memory support, the EPC612D4I.
While it offers no overclocking abilities, since it is based on Intel's C612 chipset, it does offer quad-channel DDR4 memory support on a mini-ITX form factor, something we have not seen so far. Since this is an enterprise, server-grade motherboard, it also supports Intel Xeon E5-1600 V3 and E5-2600 V3 processors.
The memory support is also limited to DDR4 SO-DIMM slots instead of the standard DIMM slots which will also be quite hard to find. The rest of the specifications and features include a single PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slot, on-board ASPEED AST2400 video chip with dedicated Gigabit Ethernet port, two more Gigabit Ethernet ports power by Intel i210 and i217LM controllers and four SATA 6Gbps ports.
Since this is a server-grade motherboard, you can also expect a high-price and both SO-DIMM DDR4 support and lack of overclocking features might be a big deal-breaker for standard consumer but still, it is the only mini-ITX motherboard with quad-channel DDR4 memory support.
