Gainward, EVGA and more recently ASUS with the STRIX lineup, have announced their own version of a GTX 780 with 6GB of memory. Some of you might laugh about this, thinking that it is way too much memory for a graphics card like the GTX 780, but when it comes to games like Watch Dogs, that need a great amount of VRAM, you should reconsider your opinion.
When it comes to an important graphics card like the GTX 780 Gaming 6GB, MSI certainly wanted to be prepared and have used the Twin Frozr IV cooler, which is able to cool down any graphics card at up to 250W TDP. You know what they say, never change a winning team or fix something that already works.
The MSI GTX 780 Gaming 6GB graphics card measures 266x129x38mm and, obviously, it is a part of MSI's Gaming OC lineup. The GK110 chip is clocked at 954/1006MHz, while the reference frequencies were 863/900MHz. It features 6GB of GDDR5 memory with a 384-bit wide memory interface, clocked at 6008MHz. As far as connections are concerned, we have HDMI, DisplayPort, DVI-I and DVI-D. MSI bundles this card with MSI Afterburner software, which allows you to push it even further and play Watch Dogs like it is meant to be played.
Unfortunately, MSI did not talk about price or a precise release date, but Computex will start on Monday, and we are pretty sure there will be more talk about it.
