ADATA has finally revealed its flagship consumer M.2 form-factor SSD, the SR1020NP series. The new SSD will be available in capacities of up to 1TB and based on Sandforce 3700 series controller paired up with MLC NAND flash and PCI-Express 2.0 x4 interface.
While most M.2 form factor SSDs will be designed for PCI-Express 2.0 x2 interface, ADATA has decided to go for PCI-Express 2.0 x4 slot which is a bit strange considering that these will slow down the graphics card PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slot on certain motherboards.
As noted, the ADATA SR1020NP series will be available in capacities of up to 1TB and feature LSI's Sandforce SF-3700 series controller paired up with MLC NAND. The aforementioned controller will offer theoretical sequential transfer speeds up to 1.8GB/s although we still do not have precise transfer speeds of the ADATA SR1020NP.
The new ADATA SR1020NP M.2 SSD will be most likely announced and demonstrated during Computex 2014.
