YouTube is about to buy Twitch

Google is behind it

Twitch, founded in 2011, had a great success from the beginning, but now they have an impressive number of active users everyday¸and it looks like YouTube (bought by Google in 2006) is getting an interest in this particular platform.

Whether you are an hardcore gamer or just a normal video game lover, you might have heard of Twitch and its great streaming service.

This service is available on the PC, Xbox One and the PS4, and it is becoming so popular due to its ease of use as it lets you share your games online without any hassle. This is exactly what drew the attention of YouTube and if you want to believe what Variety said, the company is going to buy Twitch for the incredible amount of 1 billion dollars.

It is an enormous amount of money, if you think that back in 2006, Google spent 1.65 billions to acquire YouTube. The Mountain View giant would be getting even more big, if this transaction gets completed. One possible downside of this might be about Google+, which would be probably integrated in Twitch, just like it happened with YouTube back in the days. If this is the trend, we are probably going to end up with a web dominated by Google and Facebook, which does not look so good after all.
