XFX announces its own R9 295X2 Core Edition

Reference design for now

XFX has also rolled out its own Radeon R9 295X2 which will be a part of XFX's Core Edition series, reserved for reference designed graphics cards.

The XFX Radeon R9 295X2 features AMD's reference design with hybrid liquid+air cooler and features two fully enabled 28nm Hawaii XT GPUs with 2816 Stream Processors per GPU, a total of 8GB of GDDR5 memory (4GB per GPU) paired up with a dual 512-bit memory interface.

The aforementioned cooler features a dual block/pump system for each of the GPUs connected to a 120mm radiator while the center placed fan takes care of the memory, VRM and the PLX bridge chip which connects the two GPUs.

Since it is sticking with AMD's reference design, the XFX Radeon R9 295X2 will most likely retain the AMD suggested US $1,499 retail price.
