The USB connector, as we know, is getting ready for a most biggest change so far with design which will end some of the current frustrations by coming up with a reversible USB 3.1 Type C connector which was shown by Foxconn.
The new specification should be finalized in July this year and should bring a connector which is much smaller than the ones we are currently using and actually has a symmetrical, reversible design which means that both orientations will fit perfectly in the port.
The new design, which aims to replace both USB and micro USB plugs with one universal standard, looks a lot like Apple's Lightning cable, which already has reversible design. The new USB 3.1 will offer bandwidth of up to 10Gbps but the biggest thing is the fact that it will end up frustrations of turning the connector upside down.
Of course, the pictured samples are renderings provided by Foxconn and are not yet finalized but hopefully not a lot will change before July.
