EK Water Blocks has announced its newest 5.25-inch drive bay pump/reservoir combo unit, the EK-SBAY DDC 3.2. The new combo unit will combine high performance pump with integrated reservoir combined in a single-slot 5.25-inch form factor.
According to EK Water Blocks, this type of combination which features a high-performance hydraulically improved pump top (volute) for DDC series water pumps with integrated reservoir in a single-slot 5.25-inch drive bay form factor provides more room for other components in limited space environments by making use of usually abandoned 5.25-inch drive bay slots.
The EK-SBAY DDC 3.2 is made from a high quality POM Acetal, making the device sturdy as well as guarantee maximum reliability and rigidity. The device itself is quite simple as it features single inlet- and single outlet-port as well as two filling ports on the top of the unit. It also features integrated anti-cyclone made from acrylic glass which should prevent excessive vortex formation when it is used in low hydraulic restriction loops and also ships with practical pouring cup for additional ease of use.
The EK-SBAY DDC 3.2 is designed around anti-vibration rubber mounting system which separates the device from the rest of the computer chassis thus preventing any vibrations and generally silencing the entire unit. The device comes with a PWM version of the pump which allows the automatic pump speed regulation depending on the CPU temperature. The device can also be upgraded with EK-DDC Heatsink Housing, available in Black and Nickel-plated version, which occupies two 5.25-inch slots.
