Electronic Arts' online sales platform, Origin, has so far proposed that games can be bought in either a DVD case and dematerialized copy, also known as the download copy. On April 4th, one of those two options will be officially gone.
Electronic Arts has decided to modify the policy for its Origin platform by getting rid of the physical media, or simply stop offering disc-based games as of April 4th and solely focus on selling a digital licenses for PC and Mac games.
This is not a big change as only those users who prefer to buy their games on Origin will be the one affected as EA games will still be available on physical copies but users will have to buy it from various shops and activate them on Origin.
