Gigabyte has finally unveiled its newest custom R9 280 graphics card, the R9 280 Windforce OC, which will have a similar custom design seen on the R9 280X as well as the same Windforce 3X triple-fan cooler.
The custom PCB behind the hefty Windforce 3X cooler feature Gigabyte's Ultra Durable VGA design with ferrite core chokes while the 28nm GPU has been pushed up to 950MHz base and 1072MHz GPU Boost clocks which is a decent factory-overclock compared to 850MHz base and 933MHz Boost on the reference graphics card.
In case you missed it before, the R9 280 is based on AMD's 28nm Tahiti GPU so it packs 1792 Stream Processors, 112 TMUs, 32 ROPs and comes with 3GB of GDDR5 memory, clocked at 5.0GHz and paired up with a 384-bit memory interface.
The Windforce 3X cooler on top of the custom R9 280 Windforce OC graphics card features a hefty aluminum fin heatsink cooled by three fans.
Unfortunately, Gigabyte did not shed any details regarding the availability date or the price of the new R9 280 Windforce OC graphics card.
