AMD Hawaii based dual-GPU graphics card coming soon?

AMD teases select editors

AMD has sent out a rather interesting promotional material to editors and graphics card reviewers from select tech sites with some hints that easily points to a near launch of a new dual-GPU graphics card which will most likely be based on two Hawaii GPUs.

While this is still a marketing stunt where AMD has sent out Top Secret labeled envelopes with edited photos of editors which shows two same pictures on the same Polariod-like photo with a handwritten note saying "Wouldn't you agree that two is better than one?".

The only problem in the whole story is the fact that Hawaii GPUs in the R9 290X are not exactly a pinnacle of power efficiency and quite power hungry so we are not sure how will AMD cool such a beast while maintaining acceptable noise levels. Then again, we might see a solution with tuned down Hawaii GPUs so you would basically get two R9 290 GPUs with lower clocks on the same PCB.

In any case, we will know for sure quite soon but for now we will have to satisfy with those neat marketing photos.
