In addition to giving the Razer Blade Pro a boost with the Maxwell GTX 860M GPU, Razer has also updated its 14-inch Blade system with a new 3200x1800 IGZO/IPS screen and a new GTX 870M GPU in order to cope with the higher resolution.
As noted, the new Razer Blade now feature a quite impressive 14-inch QHD+ 3200x1800 IGZO/IPS LED-backlit 10 point capacitve touchscreen panel which adds up to 5.76-megapixels or 262 ppi, which is quite impressive for a notebook. In order to cope with the higher resolution and despite the fact that it is just 0.7-inches thick, Razer Blade now packs the GTX 870M Kepler GPU with 3GB of GDDR5 memory.
The rest of the features are pretty much the same as on the "older" Razer Blade so it packs Intel's 4th generation Core i7-4702HQ quad-core CPU with Intel HD 4600 IGP, 8GB of DDR3-1600 memory, 128GB SSD with optional 256 and 512GB in SATA M.2 form factor and bunch of other features which you would not expect from a 14-inch notebook.
"The Razer Blade sets the benchmark by which all laptops should be measured," says Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder, CEO and creative director. "The Razer Blade, the world's thinnest and most powerful gaming laptop, now comes with the best 14-inch notebook display on the planet."
"The Razer Blade laptop screams premium design and top-notch performance, and we are as happy as can be outfitting such a beautiful and powerful machine with our latest graphics processor," says Brian Choi, NVIDIA Sr. product manager. "With nearly twice the graphics horsepower compared to last year's model, the Razer Blade will be one of the most visually stunning, yet portable, gaming laptops the world has ever seen."
According to Razer, the new Blade should have up to six hours of battery life with its 70Wh battery and also features the 802.11ac WiFi. The new Blade is currently available for pre-order with a starting price of US $2,199 and is expected to ship in early April.
