In addition to the Sapphire R9 290 Vapor-X and the R9 290X Vapor-X with 8GB of memory, Sapphire is also working on a Toxic version of both graphics cards and KitGuru managed to snap some close up pictures of the Toxic version.


Bearing the similar design as the Sapphire R9 290 series Vapor-X graphics cards but with a different orange/black color scheme as well as a backplate which will serve both aesthetic and cooling purposes, considering that half of those memory chips will most likely be on the back of the card.

In case you missed it earlier, Sapphire is also working on both the R9 290 Vapor-X and the R9 290X Vapor-X 8GB graphics card with blue/black color scheme. According to the report, Sapphire is also working on R9 290 Toxic as well and judging from the pictures Toxic will feature the same triple-fan cooler as the Vapor-X models.

The 8GB of memory will certainly help those who are running on triple monitor setups or even plan on going UHD/4K in near future. Unfortunately, Sapphire did not reveal any details regarding the price and it is quite clear that this will be a limited edition with only a few GPUs capable of running on high clocks which Sapphire has yet to finalize.
