Windows Phone 8.1 to bring answer to Siri

The virtual assistant named Cortana

It appears that Microsoft will tackle Apple's Siri with the upcoming virtual assistant named Cortana which will be coming with the Windows Phone 8.1 pour concurrence Siri.

Although there are still no precise details, we currently have a couple of screentshots and first details regarding the the Cortana which should replace the Bing search in the Windows Phone 8.1. It will be represented by a small circular icon rather than a famous character from Halo, as rumored earlier.

According to a screenshot from settings page of the Cortana, it will have an option to address users by their name or nickname and will save data and information as well as have an ability to track upcoming flights and any other information which you would expect from an assistant.

The Cortana will mostly use Bing and Foursquare to fill itself with info and should be unveiled during the Microsoft Build conference scheduled for next month. According to early info, the Cortana name is not carved in stone so we might see it debut under a different name.
