Google has not given up on the Project Ara, which is a modular smartphone project started back when Motorola was part of the company. To push things a bit faster, Google has scheduled the Ara Developers' Conference, which will be held on April 15th in Mountain View, California.
Described as the smartphone designed exclusively for 6 billion people, and a project that will give you choices about what exactly you want your phone to do and how do you want it to look, the Project Ara is essentially a highly affordable modular phone for the masses.
Unfortunately, Google is keeping a tight lid on all the details surrounding the Project Ara but thankfully the April 15th is not that far away. Google is apparently working hard to get the alpha version of the Ara Module Developers' Kit (MDK) ready and it should be available for developers and describe everything regarding the development of an Ara module.
In any case, it certainly sounds like an interesting concept which could change the way the smartphones are designed and we definitely look forward to the Ara Developers' Conference which will also be streamed online.
