5.9 inches for the LG G Pro 2

Competition for Galaxy Note 3?

We are slowly getting closer and closer to one of the biggest mobile shows, the Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona, and we are getting some of the first details of what we will be able to see there, including LG's successor to the Optimus G Pro flagship, the new LG G Pro 2.

This time around, LG decided to push the screen size from 5.5-inch to 5.9-inch, which means you get 1920x1080 resolution on 5.9-inch panel which adds up to 374ppi of pixel density. As it was the case with LG G2, the buttons for Home, Back and Multitasking can be found on the display while power and volume buttons are on the back.

In terms of hardware, the LG G Pro 2 is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800 SoC with quad-core Krait 400 CPU part clocked at 2.26GHz as well as the Adreno 330 GPU. The Snapdragon 800 SoC is paired up with 3GB of RAM and should be quite good when it comes to performance and multitasking. LG also decided to go for a 3200mAh battery which should keep it alive for decent amount of time.

As far as the rest of the features and specs are concerned, the LG G Pro 2 packs a front 2.1-megapixel camera and a 13-megapixel rear camera which is capable of recording in Ultra HD 3840x2160 resolution. It will run on Android 4.4 KitKat OS with LG's own UX skin on top of it.

Unfortunately, there are still no details regarding the price but we are sure we will hear much more during MWC 2014 which kicks off in Barcelona on 24th of February.
