According to a couple of leaked slides from Seagate, it appears that the company is working on 6TB HDDs which should launch in Q2 (April-June) 2014.
The slide also shows that the new 6TB HDD should come in the later part of the Q2 and could end up with a Constellation ES.3 Megalodon series branding. Although it is clear that the new 6TB HDD from Seagate will be based on a 3.5-inch form-factor and have six 1000GB platters, it is still not clear if we are looking at SATA or SAS interface. Considering that it is a part of Seagate's enterprise series, it should spin at 7200 RPM.
We are quite sure that Seagate is not the only company working ot 6TB HDDs and we certainly hope that we will hear more about those pretty soon.
