Only available via OEM channel earlier, Samsung's 840 EVO mSATA 1TB SSD has now showed up in retail/e-tail channel as well with a pre-order price of US $615. Although currently listed only in the USA, we are quite sure that this one will be available globally pretty soon.


Popular with Ultrabook users and other users running video cameras with mSATA SSD slots, the Samsung 840 EVO mSATA is based on Samsung's MEX controller with triple-core ARM processor paired up with TLC NAND flash memory and 1GB LPDDR3 DRAM cache. With transfer speeds of up to 540MB/s for read and 520MB/s for write, the Samsung 840 EVO mSATA 1TB is definitely the most interesting mSATA SSD on the market.

The Samsung 840 EVO mSATA is also available in 120, 250 and 500GB capacities and we will surely keep an eye out for it in European retail/e-tail stores.
