Nvidia GTX 750/750 Ti coming on February 18th

Custom cards from day one

According to our sources, Nvidia and its AIC partners are preparing to launch the new Geforce GTX 750 and Geforce GTX 750 Ti on February 18th. Partners will have a green light to launch custom versions from day one and expected performance improvements over Geforce GTX 650 series is at around 5 to 10 percent.

In case you missed it earlier, the GTX 750 Ti and the GTX 750 will be Nvidia's first graphics cards based on the new Maxwell architecture and should replace the previously available Geforce GTX 650 and GTX 650 Ti graphics cards.

According to our sources, Nvidia AIC partners will have a green light to come up with custom GTX 750 and GTX 750 Ti versions from day one. This comes as a simple result of the fact that the new 28nm GM10x GPUs are pin-to-pin compatible with earlier GK10x GPUs on the GTX 650 and GTX 650 Ti graphics cards so expect most of the custom designs to be pretty same.

According to earlier leaked specifications, the GTX 750 Ti should pack 960 CUDA cores, work at over 1000MHz for the GPU, and pack 2GB of GDDR5 memory paired up with a 128-bit memory interface. The GTX 750 on the other hand should be exactly the same as the GTX 650 (non-Ti) version, albeit with a slightly higher GPU clock.

According to our sources, Nvidia AIC partners shoudl ship out samples to select editors early in February so we should see some first reviews on February 18th.
