According to an interview over at IGN.com with CD Projekt RED CEO Marcin Iwinski, the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 game will be a true RPG game and stay true to the RPG roots as much as possible.
While many feared that classic pen-and-paper Cyberpunk RPG would be turned into a multiplayer game or even a shooter, Iwinski noted that CD Projekt has already prooved that it can make a good RPG and that Cyberpunk 2077 will use all the knowledge including storytelling and big game worlds, which they learned from previous three Witcher games, and make the Cyberpunk 2077 a true RPG game.
Marcin Iwinski also hinted that despite the fact that it is an all-out RPG game, the studio is looking at having a lot of new gameplay elements. The CD Projekt RED CEO was also quite keen to note that it is definitely not a multi-player shooter.
