LG gets exclusive deal to produce iWatch display

Between July and September

Apple's determination to get a piece of the smartwatch market with iWatch is definitely not a secret and according to a fresh report from Korea, it appears that LG Display managed to get exclusive deal to produce the display for it.

According to the report, the production of the 1.52-inch screen based on flexible display technology will take place from July to September and include an initial batch of 2 million units. It will be based on P-OLED (Plastic OLED) which suggest that Apple's iWatch will most likely use a curved design.

Of course, the report should be taken with a dash of salt since it was already removed from the original site and nothing is ever certain when it comes to Apple rumors but it does line up with earlier rumors that Apple has some problems with iWatch yields forcing the company to push back the release.

As it was the case with all previous new devices, smartwatches and wearable tech should become big once Apple hops on board, at least according to analysts.
