AMD has officially released developer documentation on a new processor which will feature no less than eight modules, adding up to 16 cores, all placed on a single die with PCI-Express gen 3.0 integrated within the die.

The new chip should not be confused with the currently available Opteron 6400 Abu Dhabi chips which feature multi-chip modules of two 8-core dies placed together in the G34 package. Unlike both Abu Dhabi and Seoul chips, the new chip, currently referred as the Family 15h Models 30h - 3fh, features a full-fledged uncore design with PCI-Express gen 3.0 root complex integrated in the die. The die itself will also feature four HyperTransport links in order to allow pairing of four other processors in 4P multi-socket configuration, adding up to a total of 64 cores.

Unfortunately, the developer documentation does not reveal any details regarding the actual architecture but this one will most likely end up as a part of the new enterprise Opteron lineup.
