Crucial shows DDR4 DIMM and SO-DIMM at CES 2014

Coming with next-gen Intel HEDT platform

Crucial came to Consumer Electronics Show 2014 in Las Vegas with a full lineup of DDR4 server memory modules as well as DDR4 SO-DIMMs, aimed to be used with future notebooks.

Although it did not reveal any specs, other than the fact that lineup of DDR4 modules starts at 2133MHz and as low as 1.2V, Crucial should be ready for DDR4 memory once it launches with Intel's next-generation HEDT (high-end desktop) platform which is rumored to be the first client platform with support for DDR4 memory.

In case you missed it earlier, DDR4 memory promises higher memory bandwidth, density as well as much better energy efficiency as we reach the end of the DDR3 era.
