There has been a lot of talk regarding Intel's new Broadwell CPU architecture which will be based on 14nm manufacturing process and three-gate transistors and despite the earlier revealed release date pointing to Q4 2014, latest set of rumors coming from CES 2014, points out that we might see the new Broadwell chips as early as in Q3 2014.
Intel's Broadwell CPU architecture will be quite similar to the Haswell micro-architecture but with some features which should bring reduced power consumption and certain performance boost as well as a more advanced integrated GPU part.
Intel already plans to release the Haswell-refresh chips in Q2-Q3 2014 timeframe and while it might have certain problems in launching two new products in short period of time, judging from latest set of rumors coming from KitGuru.net, citing sources close to Intel, it appears that Intel will launch Broadwell in Q3 2014, for at least some market segments, thus eliminating inter-competition between Broadwell and Haswell-refresh chips.
According to Kitguru.net, Intel will most likely focus on notebook and SFF/AiO PC market with new Broadwell chips while Haswell-refresh will remain as the main desktop product family until late Q4 2014, when high-performance Broadwell chips are expected to launch.
