Valve has finally shed more light on its upcoming Steam Machines, including a dozen different models coming from launch partners like Alienware, CyberPower PC, Origin PC, Alternate, Gigabyte, Zotac and many others.

According to details, there will obviously be a lot of different configurations as the systems will be starting as low as US $499 and up to top end systems "rivaling today's bleeding edge gaming PCs", according to Valve. According to Gabe Newell, every Steam Machine system will ship with Steam Controller and be powered by the SteamOS, but the configuration choices will apparently be left for partners to decide. According to Gabe Newell, it is quite important to offer gamers a variety of Steam Machines which will allow them to select what makes the most sense for them.

Partner list for first-generation Steam Machines launch is quite impressive and Valve certainly managed to score some big names including Alienware, Digital Storm, Maingear, Gigabyte, Zotac, Alternate and many others.

Unfortunately, Valve's Steam Machines partners are still not ready to shed any details regarding actual specifications of the new Steam Machines so it looks like we will have to wait a bit longer for those.
