Powercolor teases new R9 290X PCS+

Still with 8+6-pin PCI-Express power

In addition to recently released water cooled R9 290X LCS graphics card, Powercolor has released a set of pictures teasing the upcoming R9 290X PCS+, the custom R9 290X with triple-fan cooling.

Although it still only features 8+6-pin PCI-Express power connectors, which suggest that we will not see an impressive factory overclock. Of course, since it is a custom version with PCS+ in its title, there will be a decent factory overclock included. Of course, Powercolor's triple-fan cooler will definitely do a much better job than AMD's reference cooling solution which means that the R9 290X PCS+ will be able to maintain its maximum GPU Boost for much longer than the reference one.

As far as we can see from these pictures, the PCS+ triple-fan cooler will feature a hefty heatsink as well as six 8mm heatpipes. According to early details, the Powercolor R9 290X PCS+ is expected on retail/e-tail shelves sometime next month but Powercolor still did not reveal any details regarding the price.
