In case the LG G2 is simply too small for you with its 5.2-inch screen, LG has released the new G-series smartphone, the almost phablet sized 5.5-inch LG Gx powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 600 chipset.
Based and built around a 5.5-inch IPS LED screen with 1920x1080 resolution the precise dimensions of the LG Gx are set at 150.6x76.1x9.2mm and weighs 167 grams, which is understandable considering its size. LG pretty much packed the LG G2 in a different case and you will get all neat features seen on the LG G2 flagship.
The LG Gx is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 600 chipset which is somewhat slower than the Snapdragon 800 one seen in the LG G2. It features quad-core Krait 300 CPU part and Adreno 320 GPU part. It has 2GB of memory, 32GB of internal storage and packs a 3140mAh battery. Connectivity wise, it has Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0 and NFC and currently supports 4G on Korean networks as well as HSPA+, EVDO and VoLTE.
It also comes with main 13-megapixel rear and 1.3-megapixel front cameras which are most likely identical to the ones on the LG G2. Unfortunately, it still sticks to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean but hopefully LG will get it to KitKat pretty soon.
Unfortunately, LG also did not shed any light on the global launch of the new LG Gx but we are sure it is coming.
