DayZ Standalone version on Steam Early Access

Trailer got pulled due to censorship

DayZ, the Arma 2 mod, that had quite an impact on the community is meanwhile available as a standalone version via Steam early access for US $30. On another note, the creator of DayZ got word, that his trailer was pulled from Steam "due to censorship". Nevertheless it is still available on YouTube as well as here.

Creator Dean Hall emphasizes, that this is an early alpha build, so people should not expect everything to run perfectly smooth. There might be some glitches here and there which still need to be fixed. People should look at this version as work in progress and as a glimpse of what's to come.

Althought it's an early Alpha version, give this thing a shot could be worth it. The map for example measures a huge 230 square kilometers and there are forests, cities, as well as villages, apparently infested with zombies that await adequate slaughtering. Other than that up to 40 people can play on the sam server, which might also be heaps of fun.
