Powercolor has announced its latest member of the PCS+ lineup and the very first PCS+ model at R series, the Powercolor PCS+ R9 270X. Since is a part of Powercolor's PCS+ lineup, the new PCS+ R9 270X features custom dual fan cooler, in-house material kit as well as a factory overclock.
Powercolor's PCS+ R9 270X features a 60MHz factory overclock on the GPU side, pushing the GPU base clock to 1060MHz while the GPU Boost clock was raised to 1100MHz. It still comes with 2GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 1425MHz (5700MHz effective) and paired up with a 256-bit memory interface,
As noted earlier, the Powercolor PCS+ R9 270X uses in-house Gold Power kit that includes Digital PWM, Ferrite Conducting Power (FCP), and Multi Phase Design, all ensuring high power efficiency and stability under overclock. It features a custom PCS+ cooler with two 90mm fans, three heatpipes and a larger heatsink area with a pure copper base. The two 90mm fans are based on Double Blades fan design which should provide up to 20 percent more airflow, prevent dust depositing at the bearings and improve overall thermals, which should be up to 16 percent lower when compared to the reference design.
Powercolor also introduced the new Turbo Timer device as an optional choice that will be supported by the PCS+ R9 270X, which keeps the graphics card cooler running for a per-specified period after the PC powered off. Meant to prolong the lifespan of the graphics card as well as other components as it gets rid of excessive heat.
Unfortunately, Powercolor did not reveal any details regarding the price or availability date for the new PCS+ R9 270X or the Turbo Timer device.
