Intel and Nvidia gained GPU market share in Q3

AMD and Nvidia lost some notebook share

According to the latests Jon Peddie Reaserch report, both Intel and Nvidia managed to gain GPU market in the third quarter while both AMD and Nvidia managed to loose some of its notebook share.

According to the report, Nvidia's GPU shipments increased 2.3 percent sequentially, while Intel managed to gain around 3.5 percent. AMD's quarterly shipments on the other hand dropped 4.2 percent. Overall PC GPU quarterly shipments did increase by 6.8, but were still down by 7.6 percent when compared to the same quarter last year.

As far as the rest of the report is concerned, AMD's APU shipments rose by 27.8 percent when compared to the last quarter but AMD has also seen a drop of 21.3 percent in notebooks, so it left AMD's overall PC GPU shipments down by 4.5 percent.

Nvidia on the other hand managed to raise its desktop discrete market share by 8.2 percent but also managed to drop by 3.3 percent in the mobile GPU market. Its overall GPU shipments were up by 2.3 percent.
