Both Prolimatech and Arctic have announced that their flagship VGA heatsinks, the MK26 and the Accelero Xtreme III area actually both compatible with the Radeon R9 290X graphics cards.

Prolimatech's MK-260 and the MK-26 Black Series supports and can cope with TDP from the R9 290X and the same thing goes for Arctic's Accelero Xtreme III and Accelero Hybrid coolers from Arctic. Both companies apparently are fully confident that these coolers can cope with R9 290's >250W TDP.

As expected, since the R9 290 is practically based on the same PCB as the R9 290X, all of these coolers will have no problem fitting and cooling the R9 290 as well.
