AMD Radeon R9 290X Crossfire performance leaked

Both in Uber and Quiet mode

While AMD recently allowed select members of the press to reveal R9 290X 4K/UHD performance previews in Tomb Raider and Bioshock Infinite but only in Quiet mode, that did not stop users from Chinese forums to reveal both Uber and Quiet mode performance in various games as well as the performance of two R9 290X graphics cards in CrossfireX mode.

Quite surprisingly, AMD R9 290X scales pretty well in CrossfireX mode ranging anywhere from 1.8 to almost 2x more performance. The CrossfireX naturally depends on the actual title and as you might have guessed, AMD titles like Tomb Raider are at the top of the list.

In case you missed it earlier and according to earlier leaks, the R9 290X packs AMD's Hawaii XT GPU with 2816 stream processors, 176 TMUs and 64 ROPs, packs 4GB of GDDR5 memory paired up with 512-bit memory interface.

AMD might be able to snatch the performance crown from Nvidia but with the recent announcement of the GTX 780 Ti, it might only be true when R9 290X is pushed to work in Uber mode.
