Nvidia announces the G-Sync display technology

Module for a way around the V-Sync

During its TWIMTBP event in Montreal, Nvidia has announced the, according to Nvidia revolutionary and groundbreaking, new technology that should get rid of screen tearing, input lag and stutter, the Nvidia G-Sync.
The G-Sync is basically a module that will be implemented in certain "gaming grade" monitors made by Asus, Benq, Philips and Viewsonic as Nvidia G-Sync partners and provide a completely different and fluid experience that will remove all and any stutter, lag and tearing.

Those that were present during the demo of the G-Sync in Montreal note that the difference is stunning and that it simply works and looks really good. It works on Nvidia Geforce GTX 650 Ti Boost or better graphics card paired up with G-Sync equipped monitor. Nvidia even brought some big names in the gaming industry including John Carmack, Johan Andersson, Tim Sweeney and Mark Rein that had only praise for the G-Sync.

Apparently, the G-Sync module will also be available separately in case you want to mod your monitor by yourself and also available pre-installed in monitors from partners as of next year.

In any case, it looks really impressive as V-Sync has been a rather big thorn for developers despite the recent introduction of the Adaptive VSync. It was definitely enough for Mark Rein, architect of the Unreal Engine, to call it "the biggest leap forward in gaming monitors since we went from standard definition to high-def."

We surely looking forward to it and we hope we will be able to get our hands on it pretty soon.
