Toshiba has unveiled its new Q Series Pro SSDs that will be available in 128, 256 and 512GB capacities inside a standard 2.5-inch 7mm thick SSD case and available as a standalone SSD or in a so called Toshiba Q Kit.
Although it did not shed much data regarding the precise specifications of the new Toshiba Q Series Pro SSDs, they did note that it will connect to the system via SATA 6Gbps interface and have an average read performance of up to 554MB/s. Unfortunately, the precise controller (our bet is on Sandforce) or the NAND flash memory chips are still unknown.
As noted, the new Toshiba Q Series Pro SSDs will be available in 128, 256 and 512GB models and backed by a 3-year limited warranty.
The price is set at US $159.99 for the 128GB, US $309.99 for the 256GB and US $739.99 for the 512GB model.
