Nvidia spent 5 million on Ubisoft deal

Wants to get back at AMD

Nvidia has successfully closed the deal with Ubisoft for its upcoming Assassin's Creed and Watch Dogs titles and it appears it had to pay quite a lot for it, around US $5 million.

Both AMD and Nvidia at least agree on one thing, 4K gaming will be the future and Nvidia already teamed up with Ubisoft in order to show some Assassin's Creed demos with 4K textures that look quite amazing. In case you missed it earlier, AMD has spent a pretty penny on the EA/DICE Battlefield 4 deal that will also bring DICE behind its Mantle API.

While Nvidia's deal is not far away from the Battlefield 4 one, with titles like Assassin's Creed and Watch Dogs, AMD's Mantle API, if turns out to be good when Battlefield 4 patch goes out in December 2013, might pull even more developers to AMD.

The PC game industry is definitely on the rise and the release of next-gen gaming consoles will push it even higher since it should be quite easier to "port" games to the PC.
