What happens when a big company like Valve teases the imagination with three countdowns on his website? There are only three things that may happen, the Steam Box, Portal 3 and drum roll, maybe the long awaited Half Life 3.
Some months ago, rumors have started to circulate on the web about a possible new hardware from the creators of Half Life, under the name Steam Box.
Since March, there were not many information regarding it, but yesterday, during LinuxCom, Valve founder, Gabe Newell, has announced to the world the the console is still alive, and is Linux based. According to Newell, Linux is the future of gaming and home entertainment.
Gabe Newell is sure that Linux, is perfect to integrate the living room, desktop and mobile experiences in all-in-one platform, hoping that the Kickstarter project of Linux based smartphone will start in a recent future.
"Important news will roll out in the immediate future" and "we see the opportunities to bring Linux into living room" are the words that reached our ears and made us hope for a bright future for all the Linux owners.
Newell, teased with cryptic phrases, "The Steam universe is expanding in 2014", but it is still not clear what the possible announcements are.
Valve's web page currently has three countdowns, one of these regarding the Steam box, as anticipated by Newell, but the other two are definitely shrouded in mystery.
Could be one of these the along waited Half Life 3?
