Although we have already seen it in a bunch of pictures as well benchmarks, Nvidia has now officially unveiled its own 7-inch, Tegra 4 equipped, Tegra Note tablet. Completely designed by Nvidia and to be sold by its own partners, the Tegra Note, according to Nvidia, embodies the Nvidia brand, from hardware and software to industrial design, accessories and network of partners.
Built around a 7-inch 1280x800 IPS display and powered by Nvidia's own Tegra 4 SoC with quad-core Cortex-A15 CPU part and 72-core Geforce GPU paired up with 1GB of memory. It will also come with a rear 5-megapixel camera that uses Tegra 4 processing power and Chimera computational photography architecture revealed earlier by Nvidia, front VGA camera for video calling, front-facing HD audio stereo speakers with a unique bass-reflex port, micro-HDMI output, 16GB of storage expandable by microSD card slot, as well as a unique stylus.
The rest of the specs and features include 802.11bgn WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS and Wireless Display support as well as a a 4100mAh battery that is enough for up to 10 hours of HD video playback, according to Nvidia. The stylus itself is actually Nvidia DirectStylus technology that transforms the regular stylus into "a responsive experience with finer point and broader stroke control".
Its precise dimensions are set at 199x119x9.6mm and it weighs 320g. According to our info, it will be shipped with pre-installed Eden to Green and ZEN Pinball THD games and access to Nvidia Tegra Zone, of course. Nvidia is still to detail the precise Android OS version but it did note that OTA updates will be provided directly by Nvidia.
According to Nvidia, the Tegra Note will be coming to market worldwide in next couple of months and be carried by its own partners, including EVGA and PNY Technologies in North America; EVGA, Oysters and ZOTAC in Europe; Colorful, Shenzhen Homecare Technology and ZOTAC in Asia-Pacific; and XOLO in India. The price is set at US $199.
