Futuremark already announced the Android version of its 3DMark benchmarking software and note that both iOS and Windows RT versions should be available pretty soon. The iOS version has appeared at Apple's iTunes and all we need now is the Windows RT version so that 3DMark becomes the true cross-platform benchmark.
As noted, the new 3DMark was already happily running on Windows and Android OS, while Apple iOS as well as Windows RT versions were in development. According to Futuremark's site and iTunes, we'll be now seeing Apple's devices and how well they compared in 3DMark against Android as well as Windows systems.
The new 3DMark for iOS will bring Ice Storm and Ice Storm Extreme benchmarks based on Open GL ES 2.0 and will allow users to now compare iOS, Android and Windows devices. It currently support iOS 6.0 devices which include at least iPhone 4 and above, iPad 2 and above as well as iPod Touch (5th gen) devices. It also needs at least 174MB of free space.
